Study concept of a Mediterranean interior: wooden joinery, a mineral wall and terracotta flooring. It is a design reference, not completed work or a damp treatment with measured results.

The idea

Keep the character of a traditional home and take care of the junctions seen every day: the window opening, the wall finish and where it meets the floor. The final appearance doesn’t reveal how the damp has been resolved.

What we would study in a real home

• The source of the water and how the room behaves in different conditions.
• Air temperature and humidity, cold spots and air renewal.
• The composition, thickness, salts and existing finishes of the wall.
• The compatible intervention, drying and checks before restoring the finish.
